Description

Proteomics focuses on the global analysis of protein expression in cells or tissue. Biomolecular mass spectrometry plays an eminent role in proteome and protein analysis. This course aims to give an overview of the present state-of-the-art in Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry and proteomics, highlighting several recent applications in biology and medicine. Basic fundamentals and instrumentation will be addressed as well. The course is meant for those who wish to learn about these new developments in mass spectrometry and how they may contribute to their own area of research. The intensive course will be given in one full week. A variety of university and outside lecturers will cover a diverse array of fundamentals and applications. The course will be informal with ample time for discussion and questions. Via lab-tours and interaction with the researchers, participants will get an opportunity to survey state-of-the-art instrumentation and several examples of biomolecular mass spectrometric analysis. To encourage group interactions, the number of participants is limited. A digital course manual will be provided.
